About Me

Hi! I’m Laurie, a birth and postpartum doula serving families in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and the surrounding area and a mom of four kids ages 12–22. I completed my doula training through Douglas College in June 2026, and am now working on my Childbirth Educator Certificate with the hopes of offering low barrier prenatal classes in the community.
Birth is a deeply transformative time in your life—one that deserves to be protected, supported, and celebrated. Everyone giving birth needs a sanctuary: a space where you feel safe in your body, heard in your choices, and surrounded by gentle, steady care. I believe in informed consent and in helping you ask the questions you need so you can feel good about any decisions made during birth and postpartum. I believe in bodily autonomy, unconditional, non‑judgmental support, trauma‑informed care, and in being a continuous, reassuring presence by your side.
After the birth of my youngest, I knew that I wanted to become a doula, but the timing wasn’t right until now. Over the years, that desire never went away—it gently grew as I listened to other parents’ stories and saw how much kind, steady support can change a birth and postpartum experience.
I also have a background as a hairstylist and baker, seasons of my life that taught me to listen closely, notice the little details, and create warm, welcoming spaces. I now strive to bring that same care and creativity into supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and those tender early days at home.
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me walking or biking the trails near my home, gardening, baking something sweet, reading, or spending time with my family. I’m also a long‑time fan of the TV series, 'Call the Midwife' — the inspiration behind the name ‘Call the Doula.’
I would be honoured to walk alongside you as you prepare for birth and beyond. Let’s connect and talk about how we can create a birth and postpartum plan that feels true to you.
